The GDPR (general Data Protection Regulation) May 2018 is the legal regulation that has been put in place to safeguard an individuals personal information.  The following privacy policy details the lawful basis for beam therapies to hold information, the type of information that beam therapies holds about their clients, why that information is required, who it is shared with, how the information is used and protected and details the rights an individual has in terms of access to that information or, requests for information held to be amended or deleted.

The lawful basis by which beam therapies holds this information is held under Special Category Data:  Health.  In order to provide an effective and safe massage therapy treatment, beam therapies requires information about a clients medical history and current health status.  This information is used to provide the client with the best possible course of treatment and advise.  Name, address and contact details are required to arrange appointments. to schedule further treatments and discuss self care instructions. 

What information is held

beam therapies may collect the following personal information: 

- name, date of birth

- contact information

- emergency next of kin details

- medical history, list of medication if necessary

- treatment records, appointment details, treatment carried out and notes for advice given

What is done with the gathered information

beam therapies requires this information to assess clients treatment, outcomes and used to organise treatment plans and sessions.  This information will only be shared with your consent to other practitioners if needed.  All information gathered from the client and  the treatments will not be shared with anyone else. Unless if required by law, I may have to disclose this information. 

How long is the information held for

beam therapies is require to keep client information for 7 years after the last treatment for insurances purposes.  The data will not be transferred without the client consent.  Disposal of data will be destroyed once records are no longer bound by the regulated timescale. 

Security & Storage of data

beam therapies is committed to ensuring that all client information is stored securely.  All paper forms of client records are stored in a key locked draw to prevent unauthorised assess or disclosure.  All electronic information is stored password safe on the computer.
